Adolescence is obviously a crucial time in all our lives, a time of many “firsts”. Your parents likely sat you down at some point and explained the importance of choosing your friends wisely with a speech on the dangers of being around “bad company” and the like. Your parents were onto something. However, it is just as important to weed out the toxic people in your life when you’re older as it is when you’re young. We often reflect and learn from the people we’re around our spirits tend to soar or sink along with theirs. In this case, it isn’t exactly a mystery why being selective with friends and eliminating toxic people in our lives is essential for our health.
