Red vein kratom strains are some of our most popular products, and customers often ask how they differ. Here’s a quick guide to five favorites, based on how each one is grown and processed and what our customers tell us about them.
Quick reminder: Kratom is not approved by the FDA to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. Talk to your doctor before using kratom, especially if you take any medication.
1. Red Maeng Da
“Maeng Da” is a term for selectively grown kratom from carefully chosen trees. Red Maeng Da is one of our best sellers and is known as one of the stronger red strains, so newer customers often start with a smaller serving.
2. Red Bali
A classic, widely available red strain with a smooth, mellow reputation. Many customers keep it in their evening routine.
3. Green Malay
Not a red, but often compared to them. Green Malay sits in the middle of the spectrum, and customers describe it as balanced. It’s a common pick for daytime.
4. Red Borneo
Grown in Borneo’s humid forests, Red Borneo is one of the longest-standing strains in the kratom community and a steady favorite among longtime customers.
5. Red Thai
A traditional red strain that many longtime customers know well. Ours is destemmed for a finer, more consistent powder.
How to choose
- Time of day: Many customers save reds for evenings and greens for daytime.
- Experience level: If you’re new, start with a milder strain and a small serving, and follow the label.
- Form: Every strain above comes in powder, and most are available as capsules.
